Denice "The Menace" Zamboanga has etched her name in the annals of mixed martial arts history, becoming the first Filipina to be crowned an MMA World Champion.
Her promotion from interim to undisputed ONE Women's Atomweight MMA World Champion came after Stamp Fairtex was forced to withdraw due to injury setbacks.

Originally scheduled to defend her title against Stamp this summer, Zamboanga's dream matchup was delayed once more after the Thai superstar suffered another injury while recovering from a previous knee issue. The cancellation has left fans disappointed and both fighters frustrated, but Zamboanga is using the moment as fuel to push herself harder.
"When they elevated me to undisputed ONE Atomweight MMA World Champion, it just motivated me more in training. Now when I'm in the gym, I cannot afford to slack off one bit. I'm now always thinking of ways to improve and level up my training and my skills," Zamboanga shared.
The 28-year-old star, currently riding a four-fight win streak and boasting a 7-2 record in ONE Championship, understands that holding the undisputed title puts her in the spotlight - and in the crosshairs of every top contender in the division.
"I have to do more since there's now a target on my back. Finding the right balance and consistency has been big for me since becoming World Champion. And of course, adopting a champion's mindset. Just training hard, but also training smart," she added.
For Zamboanga, this moment is about more than gold and glory. As the first woman from the Philippines to win an MMA world title, she recognizes the symbolic weight of her achievement. She's not just fighting for herself - she's become a beacon for aspiring athletes in her homeland.
"I feel like my career is only just beginning after becoming the World Champion. Aside from being a World Champion, I'm most grateful that I was able to inspire and be a role model for people," said Zamboanga.
Though the anticipated clash with Stamp Fairtex has been postponed multiple times, Zamboanga remains optimistic that their paths will cross inside the Circle sooner rather than later.
"I think the wait will build even more excitement and hype for this fight [with Stamp]. People have been wanting to see this match for a long time. The wait will be worth it. Hopefully, our fans will stay patient and continue supporting both of us."
As she steps into this new phase of her career with discipline and determination, Denice Zamboanga is proving why she deserves to sit atop the atomweight division - not just as a champion, but as a history-making trailblazer.
