New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau has expressed dissatisfaction with the NBA referees, particularly concerning Jalen Brunson's treatment during their game against the Brooklyn Nets. Despite this, the Knicks managed a 99-95 victory over the Nets. Karl-Anthony Towns contributed significantly with 25 points and 16 rebounds, while Brunson added eight crucial points in the final moments, ending with a total of 17 points.
OG Anunoby scored 20 points, and Precious Achiuwa added 11 off the bench, helping the Knicks secure their second consecutive win. Meanwhile, D'Angelo Russell led the Nets with 23 points and 10 assists, and Cam Johnson chipped in with 16 points. The Nets have been struggling, losing four straight games and nine of their last ten.

The Knicks had established a double-digit lead in the third quarter before the Nets mounted a comeback. Keon Johnson's three-pointer gave the Nets a brief one-point advantage at 88-87 with just over five minutes remaining. However, Brunson found his rhythm late in the game to help New York improve to a 29-16 record in the Atlantic Division.
Despite securing a win, Thibodeau was unhappy with how officials handled Brunson's plays. He felt that Brunson deserved more than just four free throw attempts given his aggressive play style. "I just want to take a look at the last play on the drive. I send clips in, I do it all. What goes on with him is ridiculous. It really is. I'll leave it at that," Thibodeau stated.
Thibodeau emphasized his desire for consistent officiating: "We're attacking the basket; I'm watching KAT go. I'm watching Jalen go. There's contact. A foul is a foul. A guy gets fouled; you've got to call it. It's your job." His comments highlight ongoing frustrations with perceived inconsistencies in refereeing decisions.
The Knicks are set to face off against the Sacramento Kings this Saturday as they aim to continue their winning streak. On the other hand, the Nets will try to break their losing streak when they meet the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.
