30 member Indian team to compete in World Games

New Delhi, Sep 9: A thirty member team from India will participate in the IWAS World Games to be held in Taipei, China from September 9 to 20.

The games will have events in Athletics, Weightlifting, Swimming, Shooting and other categories. On the basis of their performances, the participants will be able to qualify for the Olympic games.

The team includes Sachin Chuadhary (weight lifting 90 Kg catagory), Rajiv Malik (Shooting 50 mtr) and Giriraj Singh (Athletics). Sachin and Giriraj have won a silver meddle in Asian Championship earlier, and are hoping to hit the gold this time.

Paraolympic Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh has announced a cash incentive of Rs.10000 for the winners of Gold medals from the Indian contingent.
