Three new meet records set, Bengal Athletes dominate

Haridwar, Jan 19 (UNI) Three meet records were set as athletes from Bengal's North 24 argana District dominated the proceedings of day two of the fourth National Inter-District Junior Athletic Meet here today.

Labina Khatun set a new meet record in the Girls under-16 Long Jump final by clearing 5.33 m to win the event. Her teammate Tanjila Khatun took the second place with 5.00 m while Chanpreet Kaur of Jalandhar bagged third place with 4.87 m.

Two more records were set in the 60 m dash finals for boys and girls under-14. Aurangabad's Mahendra Pawar stopped the clock at 7.63s to erase the old record of 7.75 of Ajinkya Rasam while K V Roshini of Guntur district set a new record timing of 8.21s in Girls 60 m dash final.

Results: Boys under-14 60 m Run: Mahendra Pawar 7.63, Sachu Salim 7.72, P Mallesh 7.86.

Long Jump: Sachu Salim 5.94, Sujith O S 5.85, Sujit Bharti 5.75, Shot Put: Ajinkya Gaikwad 13.12, D Vijay Cloument 11.71, Kushal Pal 11.68.

High Jump: Sikandar Singh 1.72, Shekuvoyi Vadeo 1.69, Nikhil Kadam 1.63; Boys under-16 100 m Run: Santosh Duan 11.44, Rabi Das 11.63, Mwkhthang Narzary 11.73 Long Jump: Rabi Das 6.64, S Manivannan 6.43, Shravan Bhoite 6.34, Shot Put: Puneet 13.35, Angad Pal Singh 13.04, Ashish Kachru 12.78.

Girls under-14 60m Run: K V Roshini 8.29, V Yeswanthi 8.51, Fatema Khatun 8.54.

Long Jump: Fatema Khatun 4.84, Bhoomika 4.67, Pinki 4.58 Girls under-16 100 m Run: Santi Biswas 13.21, Labina Khatun 13.28, Neha Nissar 13.47 High Jump: S Devipriya 1.59, Tanjila Khatun 1.44, Sundari Brahma 1.41.

Long Jump: Labina Khatun 5.33, Tanjila Khatun, Chanpreet Kaur 4.87.

Shot Put: Roopika 9.86, Bhavya Dewan 9.53, Jaspreet Kaur 9.28.
