PGA Tour to be crucial for Tiger Woods

By Samyuktha

New York, Aug 11: With his hold in the golf arena quickly turning shaky a lot lies in the upcoming PGA Tour at Whistling Straits for Tiger Woods.

After his shabby performance at the Bridgestone Invitational, the golfing legend has now reportedly gone back to the basics.

According to Sydney Morning Herald, Woods is now trying to keep his head a "little more steady", a lesson that amateur golfers are thought.

"I was just trying to keep my head a little more steady going back. I was rocking my head all over the place (last week). The head was moving way too much for me and my golf swing, so I tried to shore that up a little bit. It's starting to feel a little better," Woods said on Tuesday, Aug 10.

Last week in Ohio, Woods finished second last at 18-over-par in the World Golf Championships event.

Now the stakes are high for him at the year's final major at Whistling Straits, which kick starts on Thursday, Aug 12.

While he is second favorite to win behind Phil Mickelson, some sports analysts speculate that it will be an easy run for Woods as he will be playing in a group with Vijay Singh in the first two rounds. Woods has won 19 of the 25 times he has been paired with Singh.

However, on a negative note the third member of the group will be YE Yan, the South Korean player, who became the first player to defeat Woods in a major when Tiger was leading going into the last round.
