Golf: Tiger raring to defend Australian crown

By Samyuktha

Sydney, Jun 9: Sex Scandal tainted golfer, Tiger Woods is all set to hit the Australian turf to defend his JBWere Masters title.

The Australian Masters is scheduled to take place in Nov 2010 and incidentally it was the same tournament that played prelude to the golfing legend's great fall into the cess pool of the sex scandal after his multiple extramarital affairs surfaced after Thanksgiving in 2009.

"It has been confirmed that Tiger Woods will return to Melbourne in November to defend the JBWere Masters," a statement on Tiger Woods' website read.

The Tiger of golf, who is raring to go and defend his crown, said, "I am pleased to be able to return to Melbourne to defend the JBWere Masters. The Australian galleries made last year's event a great experience for all the players and I look forward to playing at The Victoria Golf Club in November."

The golfer had earned an appearance fee of 3 million US dollars to play the 2009 Masters. As per reports, Woods will be receiving the same amount for his participation in the 2010 event.

Masters is set to kick start on Nov 11 at the Victoria Golf Club.
