Tiger Woods gets sponsor Nike's support

Melbourne, December 12 (ANI): Sponsor Nike has decided to stand by Tiger Woods following the star's announcement that he's taking an indefinite break from professional golf to mend his personal life.

Woods, who is married to former Swedish model Elin Nordegren with whom he has two kids, confessed infidelity after he was reported of having romanced as many as 11 women.

The world no.1 apologised in a statement on his official website, saying he would withdraw from the greens to repair the damage he had done to his family and reputation.

Nike said it will be looking forward to the return of the 33-year-old billionaire sportsman when he thinks he is ready.

"Tiger has been part of Nike for more than a decade. He is the best golfer in the world and one of the greatest athletes of his era," The Australian quoted Nike as saying in a statement.

"We look forward to his return to golf. He and his family have Nike's full support," the company added. (ANI)
