The Minnesota Timberwolves halted the Oklahoma City Thunder's seven-game winning streak with a 116-101 victory. Naz Reid led the charge with 27 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists. Anthony Edwards contributed 23 points, while Jaden McDaniels added 21. The Timberwolves, missing key players, adopted a small-ball strategy to secure the win against the West-leading Thunder.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 24 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds but struggled early on, shooting just 2 for 13 in the first half. Despite missing four of their top eight scorers, Minnesota capitalised on youthful energy to overcome Oklahoma City. Terrence Shannon, a first-round draft pick, scored all his 13 points in the first half off the bench.

Timberwolves Stop Thunder's Winning Streak

In another game, CJ McCollum shone for the New Orleans Pelicans by scoring 37 of his 43 points after halftime in a thrilling 140-133 overtime win against the Sacramento Kings. McCollum's performance helped snap a ten-game losing streak for New Orleans. Jose Alvarado and Trey Murphy III each added 18 points to aid their team's victory.

Zach LaVine led Sacramento with 32 points and ten assists. Domantas Sabonis recorded a career-high of 28 rebounds alongside his 22 points. The Pelicans managed to protect their lead late in regulation by intentionally fouling Sabonis. Although he missed one free throw, Malik Monk's subsequent free throws forced overtime.

Meanwhile, Norman Powell scored a season-high of 41 points as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Utah Jazz in overtime with a score of 120-116. James Harden supported Powell with 32 points, ten rebounds, and seven assists. The Clippers overcame a significant deficit to secure their third consecutive win before the break.

Clippers' Comeback Against Jazz

Kyle Filipowski led Utah with a career-high of 20 points and ten rebounds. Lauri Markkanen also contributed with another 20 points for Utah. The Clippers did not take control until late in the fourth quarter when Powell's crucial baskets secured their lead during overtime.

The Timberwolves' victory was marked by strategic adjustments due to missing players from their usual starting lineup. This win provided them momentum heading into the All-Star break despite recent challenges against teams like Milwaukee.
