Daley revealed he had decided to retire before competing in the men's 10m synchronised platform event with Noah Williams.

"It was emotional at the end, up there on the platform, knowing it was going to be my last competitive dive," he said. "But I have to make the decision at some point, and it feels like the right time. It's the right time to call it a day."
The Paris Games marked Daley's fifth Olympic appearance. He first qualified for the Olympics at age 14 in Beijing. Four years later, he won bronze in the men's 10m platform event in London. He continued to impress by winning another bronze in Rio 2016 and then securing both gold and bronze at Tokyo 2020.
