Top 10 finish for Randhawa, Jeev tied 12th at France Open

Paris, July 2 (UNI) Jyoti Randhawa fired seven birdies in his final round three-under 68 card to record his second top ten finish of the season in tied seventh at the Open de France Alstom here.

Randhawa, a former Asian number one, delivered a four-day total of four-under-par 280 and finished three strokes behind champion Graeme Storm of England at the par-71 course.

The Indian stalwart had last claimed a top-10 result in Europe at the Open de Espana in April where he took the runners-up spot.

The 35-year-old, who was tied 11th overnight, shot five birdies on front nine followed by another two against two dropped shots and a double bogey as he ended his campaign ahead of compatriot Jeev Milkha Singh who stumbled to a final round 73 for a joint 12th place from overnight tied fifth.

Jeev returned a final round two over 73 with three bogeys and one birdie for a total card of one under 283. He shared the 12th spot with Martin Kaymer of Germany who returned a level par 71 at the final round.

Randhawa was richer by 110000 euros for his effort while Jeev pocketed 64800 euros.

Meanwhile, Englishman Storm shocked fellow competitors by returning a bogey-free final round 65 and jumped from tied eighth overnight to claim the title with a four day aggreagate of seven under 277. He pocketed 666660 euros.

Soren Hansen of Denmark was one stroke behind while the quartet of Thomas Bjorn (Denmark), Simon Khan (England), Damien McGrane (Ireland) and Colin Montgomerie of Scotland were two strokes behind at tied third.
