Toure completes move from Monaco to Barcelona

MADRID, June 26 (Reuters) Barcelona completed the signing of Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure from Monaco on a four-year contract today.

The 24-year-old passed a medical in the morning to seal a move Spanish media reported to be worth over 10 million euros.

He is the Primera Liga club's second signing after the arrival of French striker Thierry Henry for 24 million euros yesterday and will help add some strength to a midfield which looked lightweight a times last season.

Barca finished second in the league, losing out to arch-rivals Real Madrid on the final day.

Toure, younger brother of Arsenal defender Kolo Toure, was a member of the Ivory Coast squad at the World Cup finals in Germany last year.

He has also played for Belgium's Beveren and Ukraine's Metalurg Donetsk and joined Monaco from Olympiakos last year.

Barca are also in talks with AS Roma over their Romanian international centre-back Cristian Chivu.
