Trott ton gives England 333-6 vs. Australia

Sydney, Feb 2 (AP) Jonathan Trott ignored leg cramps tosmash an aggressive century and help England to 333-6 battingfirst in the sixth one-day game against Australia.

Trott made 137 off 126 deliveries before beingcaught-and-bowled by Shaun Tait off the second last ball ofthe innings.

Trott finished his innings with a runner after pulling upwith cramps in the 42nd over, but still managed to guideEngland to its biggest total so far in the series.

Tait took two wickets while Steve Smith was the mosteconomical bowler with 1-40 off seven overs.

England made a bright start to the match after captainAndrew Strauss won the toss and elected to bat at the SydneyCricket Ground.

The opening pair of Strauss and Matt Prior made 41 from45 balls before Prior was bowled by Mitchell Johnson for 18 inthe eighth over.

Strauss and Jonathan Trott then set about steadying theinnings with an 80-run partnership until Strauss was caught byDavid Hussey at short mid-wicket off a Smith ball for 63.

Kevin Pietersen made 29 runs and shared 68 with Trottbefore spooning Smith a simple catch at mid-off from a BrettLee delivery.

Trott shared a 104-run partnership with Ian Bell to put abig total beyond doubt for England as the Australian bowlersstruggled to make a breakthrough.

The wicket belatedly came when Bell was caught by MichaelClarke at extra cover in the 46th over when he was tempted bya Tait ball. Eoin Morgan was then caught by Tait off ShaneWatson for 21.

Trott survived a scare when on 82; given out lbw to Tait.

However a subsequent review showed the ball was outside theline of leg stump. Then, while on 120, he was dropped by ShaneWatson on a caught-and-bowled chance.

Australia came into the match leading the seven-gameseries 4-1. The final game will be played Sunday at Perth.
