Trouble times for Pakistan, Inzamam down with flu and jet-lag
Lahore, Mar 4 (UNI) 'Trouble times' are yet not over for Pakistan World Cup squad with the skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq falling ill just a day after the team's arrival in Trinidad.
The skipper yesterday stayed away from the team's training sessions which included few swimming sessions and light exercises in the team hotel in Trinidad due to flu.
''Inzamam is suffering from flu but it is nothing serious. He should be fit in the next couple of days,'' the team's media manager PJ Mir told The News over telephone from Trinidad.
He said that Inzamam and some other players were suffering from jet-lag too which forced the coach Bob Woolmer to decide against net practice yesterday. He allowed the players only to carry out light physical exercises and swimming.
''Apart from Inzamam's flu, everything is perfectly fine for us and we are all looking forward to the warm-up game against Canada,'' said the team's media manager.
Mir also said that they were expecting fast bowler Mohammad Sami and all-rounder Yasir Arafat to join the team before the warm-up match against Canada.
''We are still awaiting clearance from the ICC for the two players and as soon as we get it, Sami and Arafat would be sent here. We hope that the two players can land in Trinidad before the first warm-up game,'' Mir said UNI XC SSC PK HS1204
