TSC demands for handing over of Assam Rifles ground

Agartala, Feb 1 (UNI) Tripura Sports Council (TSC) has organised a rally demanding the handing over of Assam Rifles Ground near here to the Government.

Tripura Sports Council(TSC) said here today a rally would be organised here tomorrow from the Umakanta Academy School ground to Assam Rifles Ground to hand over memorandum to the Central Para-Military force authorities.

People from all walks of life, are expected to participate in the rally in support of handing over of the ground from the control of Assam Rifles to state government for making it a modern sports ground as well for the greater interest of the state's sports.

Around 5,000 people expected to participate in the rally, TSC said.

The state government had also written a letter to the Union Home Ministry urging them to hand over the ground to the state government.
