Tukadoji, Shivaji universities enter third round

Vijayawada, Dec 29 (UNI) Tukadoji University, Nagpur defeated Madurai Kamaraj University 3-2 while Shivaji University, Kolhapur also edged out Bharathidasan 3-2 in pool-A to enter the third round of the South-Zone Inter-University Volleyball Women's Tournament here today.

In the other second round matches, Tukadoji University won the first 25-13 and lost the second and third sets to Madurai 22-25, 11-25.

However, Tukadoji women bounced back and won the next two sets 25-18 and 15-13.

Shivaji University, who won the first two sets 25-22, 27-25 lost the third and fourth sets to Bharathidasan university 21-25 and 19-25. It finally won the last set 15-12 to wrap up the match.

In the other matches, Manonmanyam Sundarnar University beat Puducherry University 25-11, 25-11, 25-6, lnipe university defeated Alagapa University 25-5, 25-12 and 25-12, Saurashtra trounced bhavnagar 25-10, 25-15, 25-12, university of Pune Pipped Kakatiya University 25-22, 25-12, 25-12 in pool a, Andhra beat SNDT (women) university 25-08, 25-08, 25-06, Karnataka (Women) University beat Hemachandracharya university 25-14, 24-26, 25-5,25-12, Amaravathi outplayed Devi Ahalya 25-9, 25-10, 25-06 and Dr NTR University of Health Sciences Demolished Veer narmad 25-17, 25-18, 25-12 in pool to enter the third round.

Annamalai University and RGUHS University in Pool +A+ University of Kerala in Pool +B+ and Mangalore University in Pool +c+ also entered the third round after its opponents didn't turned up for the match.
