Twenty20 is the way destructive bowler Tait is heading towards

By Super Admin

Sydney, Feb 23(ANI): Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait, regarded perhaps as the most destructive Twenty20 bowler in the game today, insists that he enjoys playing the shorter version more than one-day, Tests or Shield matches.

"It's good fun. The shorter form at the moment is the way I'm heading and the way I have been heading the last year or so. I have enjoyed it this season," The Australian quoted Tait, as saying.

"The Twenty20s have been great and these last two international ones the crowds have been brilliant and there's plenty of interest, it's great," he added.

When asked why sometimes he is quicker than others, Tait said: "I don't really know to be honest. I think it's just on the night, how you feel and the way the balls coming out, it's one of those things. It's hard to put a finger on why some days you bowl quicker and some days you don't."

Tait pushed through the 160km/h barrier in a Twenty20 against Pakistan recently, but had to be content with a fastest ball of around 157km/h on Sunday in Tasmania against the West Indies.

The 27-year-old further said he wants the chance to strut his slinging stuff on the game's most glittering stage, the Indian Premier League.

"I've been very keen, the last couple of years I haven't been able to play, so I've been looking forward to the IPL this year so I hope it can go ahead," he said.

"All the security stuff, that's out of my league, but I hope it does go ahead and everything's fine and I can play. I've been thinking about the IPL for a while now, so looking forward to playing," he added. (ANI)
