Two-time PGA Tour winner Joaquin Niemann confirms participation in International Series India presented by DLF

Joaquin Niemann, the reigning champion of the 2024 International Series Rankings and a standout star of LIV Golf, has been confirmed as one of the major players for the upcoming International Series India presented by DLF.

This US$2 million event will take place at the prestigious DLF Golf & Country Club next month.

The Chilean, who leads the Torque GC team in the LIV Golf League, will be joining defending US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau from the USA and local hero Anirban Lahiri at the tournament, which runs from January 30 to February 2 on the iconic course in Gurugram.

Niemann had an outstanding 2024 season, finishing as runner-up in the LIV Golf League's individual standings. He claimed victories in two of the first three tournaments, in Mayakoba and Jeddah, and also secured two second-place finishes and two third-place finishes, just missing out to two-time major winner Jon Rahm.

At 26 years old, Niemann, a two-time PGA Tour champion, concluded the season with a thrilling win at the US$5 million PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers in Riyadh. In a dramatic play-off, he held his composure to defeat 2022 Open champion Cam Smith and rising American star Caleb Surratt.

This victory, coupled with a third-place finish in the season-opening International Series Oman, earned Niemann the top spot in the International Series Rankings.

The International Series India, presented by DLF, marks the first LIV Golf-backed event in the subcontinent and is the opening tournament in a series of 10 events across the season. The series will also feature stops in Macau, Morocco, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia, with more locations to be announced.

This series offers players worldwide an opportunity to qualify for the LIV Golf League, with the overall rankings champion securing a spot for the following season. Additionally, players have a second chance to join the LIV Golf League through the LIV Golf Promotions event.
