Las Vegas, March 4: Cris Cyborg retains the UFC Women's Featherweight title after she knocked out debutant Yana Kunitskaya in UFC 222: Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday (March 3).
In the main event, Cyborg who stepped in on a three weeks notice stopped the Invicta FC bantamweight champion Kunitskaya at the 3:25 mark of the first round. Cyborg then called out UFC Bantamweight cahmpion Amanda Nunes for her next fight.

In the co-main event, Brian Ortega became the first ever fighter to stop Frankie Edgar, who was knocked out by a massive right uppercut with 16 seconds left in the first round. The undefeated Ortega stretched his winning run, while Edgar dropped one after two successful wins.

A women's bantamweight bout between Cat Zingano and Ketlen Viera opened the main card of UFC 222, where the returning Zingano had her moments, but it was the undefeated Vieira who got the split decision win with a pair of 29-28 scores.
In a battle of the heavyweights that followed, Andrei Arlovski dominated Stefan Struve with his takedown game to earn points across the board for a unanimous decision win. Arlovski, who had five takedowns in the bout, had only three takedowns in all his previous UFC fights combined.

Next up, in a bantamweight bout, despite a suspected broken leg Sean O'Malley overcame Andre Soukhamthath to pick up a unanimous decision victory. O'Malley dominated in the first two rounds but had to survive in the third and final round to avoid being TKO'ed.
Earlier, on the preliminary card, there were four split decisions and three stoppages. Mackenzie Dern (women's strawweight), John Dodson (bantamweight), Cody Stamann (bantamweight) and Jordan Johnson all picked up split decison victories in their respective bouts.

As for the three stoppages, Zak Ottow stopped Mike Pyle via technical knockout (TKO) in a light heavyweight bout and Alexander Hernandez knocked out Beneil Dariush under a minute of the first round in a lightweight bout.

While, the third stoppage was a disqualification of Hector Lombard in a middleweight bout against C.B. Dollaway for punches after the first round buzzer blew.
