
Bengaluru, March 1: Jack Hermansson is set to reportedly face Thales Leites in a middleweight bout at UFC 224 hosted by the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on May 12.
The news of the bout was first reported by Brazilian news outlet Combate and is yet to be officially confirmed by the UFC.
Hermansson, who heads to Brazil for the third time in five fights as been successful in his last two trips. After a win over Scott Ashkam in his promotional debut, he was submitted by Cezar Ferreira at UFC Fight Night 100 in November 2016.
He, however, bounced back with a pair of knockout wins over Alex Nicholson and Bradley Scott. But was knocked out by Thiago Santos at UFC Fight Night 119 last October in Brazil.
While, Leites started his UFC career with five straight wins, including back-to-back stoppages of Francis Carmont and Tim Boetsch. But since then, he has dropped back-to-back decisions to Michael Bisping and Gegard Mousasi in 2015 and 2016.
He, however rebounded with a submission win against Chris Camozzi, but dropped a decision to Krzysztof Jotko at UFC Fight Night 100.
His recent win was over Sam Alvey this past August after which he dropped a fight to Brad Tavares at UFC 216 in October.
Last week, we also had reports of a potential headliner for the event in which Amanda Nunes is set to put her UFC women's bantamweight title on the line against Raquel Pennington.
