Alex Pereira and Zhang Weili defended their respective titles in the headliner of UFC 300: Pereira vs. Hill event in front of the sold out T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday (April 14).
The fourth numbered event of 2024, which was the 3rd highest grossing UFC event of all time, saw eight of the 13 fights, including the main event end in stoppages, while five fights went the distance, including the co-main event.

Max Holloway bagged a double bonus, with the light weight battle against Justin Gaethje for the BMF belt being awarded the fight of the night award, while the Blessed also took home performance bonus worth USD300,000 along with Jiri Prochazka.
Arman Tsarukyan, Prochazka, and Aljamain Sterling all made their cases to be next title challengers, and world champion athletes proved their worth in MMA as Bo Nickal won his 6th straight fight and Kayla Harrison made an incredible UFC debut. Here is the recap from UFC 300:
In the main event, UFC light heavyweight champion Pereira welcomed back former champion Jamahal Hill to engage in an epic title fight at the top of a momentous card.
After three minutes of testing each other, Pereira dialled in and landed a left hook to knock out Hill for the definitive victory. Following the stoppage, Pereira said he wants to fight at a higher weight division.
"I think you guys could see what I was doing. He's a strong guy, so I could not go away from my strategy. I was gauging the timing and everything went perfectly. To be honest, when I step inside the Octagon, I don't see myself as a champion," Pereira said at the Octagon interview.
"I do the same thing in my personal life. I don't let this belt go to my head. I talk about a fight in Brazil... I won this fight, I'm not hurt, I want to fight at heavyweight."
In the co-main event, UFC strawweight champion Zhang Weili, China's first ever UFC champion and Yan Xiaonan, the first female Chinese athlete signed to UFC, paired up for an historic first-ever UFC title fight between Chinese athletes.
In the opening round, following back and forth trading, Zhang scrambled to the back and locked on a rear naked choke that looked to have Yan out at the bell.
Sensing the advantage, Zhang smartly went for the takedown fast in the second, controlled on the ground, landed massive ground and pound, then slapped on an arm triangle - but Yan powered out and ended the round standing - the crowd went wild.
Yan rebounded in the third and fourth with big kicks, two knockdowns, and great clinch, but Zhang took back the momentum with dominant ground control all the way through the end of the fight.
Zhang earned the hard-fought unanimous decision victory to keep her belt and said, "Xiaonan is an amazing fighter, and she's so tough and I have so much respect for her. I would like for us to be good friends after the fight.
"I really thought she was out (in the first round), but she bounced back very quickly. Thank you everyone for supporting us Chinese girls! I came to the US to train, and I received a lot of warmth from the American people. I welcome you to visit China, we have a lot of great food, great culture, we'll be welcoming to you as well."
Also on the main card, top talent met at lightweight as former interim lightweight champion Gaethje put his BMF belt on the line against former featherweight champion Holloway.
Holloway came out strong with smart, hard punches and a spinning back kick that damaged Gaethje's nose. Round two witnessed Gaethje's damaging kicks starting to appear, but Holloway's output, speed and fight IQ kept him ahead and surging through round three.
In the fourth, Holloway opened with three big damaging shots, but Gaethje recovered to land a clean knockdown. In the final round, Holloway went on the assault to deliver a brilliant performance that ended with both men winging violent punches in the center of the Octagon.
And in the very last second of the fight, Holloway knocked out Gaethje and said, "First of all, give it up to the real BMF, Justin Gaethje! He had nothing to lose by taking this fight, but he gave it all up for you guys! I'm here.
"There's El Matador (featherweight champion Ilia Topuria), at 145 (pounds), sign the contract, Spain, Hawaii. Or even Islam (Makhachev, lightweight champion). He's famous for defending against 145ers. I'm here. I'm right here!"
Plus, Arman Tsarukyan edged former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira after Bo Nickal choked out Cody Brundage in the middleweight main card opener. Here is a look at the final results of UFC 300:
