The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Newark, New Jersey for the first time since a year this weekend for the sixth numbered event of 2024 - UFC 302: Makhachev vs. Poirier, which is headlined by a world championship bout.
In one of the most anticipated matchups of the year, UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev will take on No. 4 ranked contender Dustin Poirier in the UFC 302 main event.

The co-main event, on the other hand, will see two of the most gregarious UFC athletes go toe-to-toe when No. 1 ranked middleweight Sean Strickland faces off with No. 7 Paulo Costa.
Also on the main card, a welterweight contest sees fan-favorite Kevin Holland battle knockout specialist Michal Oleksiejczuk after Dana White's Contender Series (DWCS) contract winner and current No. 7 ranked UFC heavyweight Jailton Almeida meets No. 13 ranked contender Alexandr Romanov.
Welterweights Randy Brown and Elizeu dos Santos kick off the main card after undefeated middleweight Cesar Almeida looks to add Roman Kopylov to his perfect record in a bout to close the preliminary card.
The prelims will also see an action-packed lightweight bout featuring DWCS contract winner Grant Dawson, who locks horns with Joe Solecki after Phil Rowe and Jake Matthews square off at 170 pounds.
Plus, all-action welterweights Niko Price and Alex Morono will look to leave it out of the judges' hands in the preliminary card opener after New Jersey's own Mickey Gall makes his return to the Octagon to take on Bassil Hafez at welterweight to close the early preliminary card.
