Anshul Jubli's second big appearance in the Ultimate Fighting Championship ended in disappointment after the Indian MMA star was finished with a one-punch knockout in just 19 seconds by Australian newcomer Quillan Salkilld in Sydney on Sunday (February 9).
Jubli, who earned his UFC contract via the Road to UFC season 1, was looking to bounce back from his debut loss, but the Indian was not even allowed to come out of the blocks by the Aussie in the lightweight bout which opened UFC 312 at the Qudos Bank Arena.

Salkilld (8-1-0) needed just a single right hand to put Jubli down and out in his octagon debut at home in Australia. The piston-like shot connected and Jubli crashed to the canvas with the referee immediately rushing in to stop the contest at just 19 seconds into the first round. Here is a look at the KO:

Once Jubli fell to the ground, the referee immediately ended the contest, but the 30-year-old fighter from India did grab onto a leg and protest the stoppage. Replays also showed that the referee may have stopped the fight early, but then again Jubli did go down in a rather violent manner after Salkilld's punch connected.
Many fans felt it was an early stoppage by the ref as they believed Anshul was back grabbing Salkilld's legs, but some disagreed saying, the Indian was clearly rocked and had a poor strategy in defence. All said and done, Jubli suffered his second successive loss in the Octagon since winning the UFC contract.
Anshul Jubli became the first India MMA athlete to win a UFC contract via the Road to UFC in 2022/23. The Indian defeated South Korea's Kyung Pyo Kim and Jeka Seragih of Indonesia to land his deal in the UFC.
Earlier in 2023, Jubli was handed his debut in a numbered event - UFC 294, where he suffered his first loss in his MMA career, going down to Mike Breeden in a third-round stoppage at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
