UFC Fight Night 126 results: Cowboy stands tall in night of KOs

In the main event, 'Cowboy' Cerrone on a three fight skid stopped Medeiros via TKO in a welterweight bout, while in the co-main event Derrick Lewis knocked out Marcin Tybura in the final round.

Austin, February 19: Donald Cerrone finishes off Yancy Medeiros in the night of stoppages, 8 of 12 to be precise in UFC Fight Night 126: Cowboy vs Medeiros at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas on Sunday (February 18).

In the main event, 'Cowboy' Cerrone on a three fight skid stopped Medeiros via TKO in a welterweight bout with just two seconds left in the first round to finally get back to winning ways.

The victory also gave Cerrone 20 in the UFC which made him tie the record held by Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre.

In the co-main event, two of heavyweights top 10 contenders Derrick Lewis and Marcin Tybura battled to get a chance to get close to the title opportunity.

The 'Black Beast' Lewis who was on the back of a TKO loss to Mark Hunt was close to another defeat but some how managed to knock out Tybura in the third and final round of a battle mostly dominated on the ground to win via a technical knock out.

Here's how rest of the event panned out,

In the opening bout of the main card, welterweight's prospect Sage Northcutt with his striking game earned a unanimous decision win against Thibault Gouti with three scores of 29-28 on the board.

Next up on the main card was a featherweight bout, where Brandon Davis earned ponits across the board to pick up a unanimous decision against Steven Peterson.

Followed it was a stoppage in a welterweight bout, where debutant Curtis Millender connected a perfect knee out of no where to earn a knock out victory over Thiago Alves at 4:17 of the secon round.

Next up on the under card, James Vick overcame Francisco Trinaldo in a lightweight clash to pick up a unanimous decision win.

The preliminary card was filled with stoppages, 5 of 6 to be precise and all were first round finishes as well.

First-up, Oskar Piechota knocked out UFC debutant Tim Williams in less than two minutes of the event opener and earned a TKO win at the 1:54 mark of the first round of the fight.

In a welterweight bout Alex Morono made Josh Burkman tap in the first round, while Roberto Sanchez (Flyweight) and Geoff Neal (welterweight) also earned submission wins against Joby Sanchez and Brian Camozzi respectively.

Meanwhile, in the only decision win of the prelims, Lucie Pudilova defeated Sarah Moras with scores of 29-28, 29-28, 29-27.

To conclude the preliminary card, we saw another stoppage when Diego Ferreira - fighting for the first time after more than two years - knock out Jared Gordon with a first-round TKO at the 1:58 mark of a lightweight bout.
