UFC on FOX 26 results: Dos Anjos stands tall in Winnipeg

In a battle of two former UFC champs, Dos Anjos proved he's a real threat in the welterweight division after he whitewashed future UFC Hall of Famer Lawler in the main event of UFC on FOX 26.

Winnipeg, December 17: Former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos looks the real deal in welterweight division after he dismantled fomer champ Robbie Lawler in UFC Fight Night: Lawler Vs Dos Anjos at Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Canada on Saturday (December 16).

In a battle of two former UFC champs, Dos Anjos proved he's a real threat in the welterweight division after he whitewashed future UFC Hall of Famer Lawler in the main event of UFC on FOX 26.

In the co-main event, former featherweight title challenger Ricardo Lamas met a short-notice replacement Josh Emmett and under dog Emmett stopped perennial contender Lamas via a first-round knock out.

In a key light heavyweight contest that opened the main card, Glover Teixeira got into the title mix with a first-round stoppage of Misha Cirkunov.

Next up, in a welterweight slugfest, Santiago Ponzinibbio edged out favourite Mike Perry to earn decision across the board and picked up a unanimous decision victory.

To open the night's event a battle of welterweights took place and in desperate need of a victory, it was Jordan Mein who earned a dominating win over Erick Silva by unanimous decision.

Next up on the prelims, Alessio Di Chirico was slow to start but proved impressive with his finish of Oluwale Bamgbose in a middleweight scrap.

A lightweight bout followed it and John Makdessi controlled the action from the start to finish en route to his decision win over Abel Trujillo, who promised to finish Makdessi in the first round.

Later, Nordine Taleb picked up the quickest win of his professional MMA career, where he needed just 59 seconds to stop Danny Roberts in a welterweight bout.

What followed was another stoppage as Chad Laprise gutted his way through an early knockdown to earn his own first-round TKO of Galore Bofando.

After a thrilling win in Dana White's Contender Series audition, Julian Marquez impressed again in his UFC debut to submit Darren Stewart via a guillotine choke.
