UFC Seattle 2025 Recap

Former UFC champion and No. 7 ranked bantamweight Cejudo returned to action against China's phenom No. 8 ranked Song in the bantamweight main event of the rankers. It was a tense and tactical first round, with both trying to establish their pace and timing.

Cejudo's jab was definitive in the second, although Song kept his takedowns at bay. In the third, Song came out strong, but an eye poke caused a time out for Cejudo.

Song finished strong, but Cejudo couldn't come out in the fourth so the referee stopped the fight. By the rules, since the fight was more than halfway finished, it went to the scorecards and Song was awarded the victory.

Following the abrupt decision, Song said, "Sorry, that was totally an accident. The result is not what I want. I'm so sorry, Henry, and I think we should run it back. We will fight again."

"Henry did a very great job in here. He has so many experience. I learned a lot from this fight. I will do better next time in the rematch," Song further lauded Cejudo.

In the co-main event, No. 9 ranked middleweight Brendan Allen and No. 12 ranked Anthony Hernandez rematched in an exciting back and forth between grappling specialists, and they were intent on finishing.

Allen ended the first round strong, and Hernandez went for it in round two, owning it with ground control. Hernandez repeated the strategy in the final round, and ended up passing former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman with the most takedowns in UFC middleweight history.

After the unanimous division victory, "Fluffy" Hernandez said, "I got to prove what I knew, that I could shut him down this time. I still had to scramble because he's a beast, but it's good to come out and show what I can do with the top (number) nine. I want to get the belt, so give me someone who's going to prove that I'm ready for the title."

Also on the main card, Rob Font edged Jean Matsumoto in a catchweight bout of 140 pounds after Jean Silva stopped Melsik Baghdasaryan in the first round of a featherweight bout. In the main card opener, Alonzo Menifield took a split decision against Julius Walker in a light heavyweight bout.

Earlier in the preliminary card, all fights were finishes as Ion Cutelaba and Melquizael Costa earned submission wins, while Mansur Abdul-Malik, Ricky Simón, Austin Vanderford, Nursulton Ruziboev and Modestas Bukauskas claimed KO or TKO wins.

As mentioned earlier, four fighters received bonus from the event with two athletes taking home an extra USD 50K for their stoppage wins, while one fight also bagged the fight of the night award. Here is a look at the bonus winners followed by the final results:
