Apart from Goff and Waters, Carlos Diego Ferreira and Carlos Ulberg also pocketed an extra USD50K as performance bonus. Here is a look at the recap and results of UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Nascimento:
In the main event, knockout artist No. 12 ranked heavyweight Derrick Lewis walked out to massive cheers from his hometown crowd, on his way to take on rising contender No. 15 Rodrigo Nascimento.
Lewis threw everything he had at Nascimento, but the clashes ended in clinches. In the third round, it all added up, and after dropping Nascimento, Lewis got the referee stoppage, extending his UFC record for the most KOs to 15.
After the win, Lewis said, "I feel good. What is this... St Louis? I appreciate you all. I couldn't let a taxi driver from Brazil beat me. I'm going to sit down for a second. I'm getting too old for this. Did you see that? You don't see too many almost-40 (year olds) do that."
St. Louis' own No. 11 ranked welterweight Joaquin Buckley had a noisy entrance from the proud hometown fans when he walked to the Octagon to face Nursulton Ruziboev in the co-main event.
The towering 2-meter tall Ruziboev threw knees, but Buckley ran through them to land takedowns. In the third, Buckley landed a huge knockdown, got mount, and landed ground and pound, then dominated the rest of an exciting round.
Following the win, Buckley said, "St Louis, stand up everybody! We showed up and showed out! We brought the UFC back, and it wasn't just me, it was you all too! This is our win!
"My grandma has ALS. ALS has stricken so many things from her.. but she still keeps a smile on her face and pushes her baby. Grandma, this one's for you!"
Also on the main card, Ulberg and Diego Ferreira claimed stoppage wins over Alonzo Menifield and Mateusz Rebecki in their respective light heavyweight and lightweight bouts, while Sean Woodson and Waldo Cortes Acosta earned decision wins in their respective bouts.
Earlier in the preliminary card, Chase Hooper and Esteban Ribovics claimed stoppage wins, while Veronica Hardy, Charles Johnson, Tabatha Ricci and Trey Waters earned decision wins. Here is a look at the final results of UFC St Louis:
