Las Vegas, July 16: Mayra Bueno Silva jumped into Women's Bantamweight title contention following a stoppage win over Holly Holm during the main event of UFC Vegas 77: Holm vs. Bueno Silva at the UFC Apex Facility in Las Vegas on Saturday (July 15).
The 13-fight card saw five fights end in stoppages and eight go the distance for the decision. Among the five stoppage wins, two were knockouts or technical knockouts, while three were submission wins, including the headliner.

The co-main event fight between welterweights Jack Della Maddalen and Bassil Hafez was awarded the fight of the night bonus, while main eventer Bueno Silva as well as Francisco Prado pocketed an extra USD50K for their respective stoppage wins on the main card.
In a stellar women's bantamweight main event match up, No. 10 ranked Bueno Silva had her game on point against No. 3 ranked Holm, using power punches against the latter's tactical footwork.
When it brought Holm to clinch, Bueno Silva locked on a standing guillotine that left no escape. With the second round submission victory, Bueno Silva jumps the queue towards title contention.
Following the second-round submission win, Bueno Silva said, "Recently, I found myself in a huge depression and thought that being alive was no longer important. I found somebody and she's been with me all along. If you feel like that, go find somebody, reach out and talk.
"I did what I said (I'd do). Now I want a belt, because it's what I deserve. Nobody deserves it like me. Hey Juliana Pena, let's go! I'm a new face, I finish fights, I give everybody a show! This belt is my belt!"
In the co-main event, Della Maddalena got a quick make up fight as the co-main event against UFC newcomer Hafez. The style-versus-style Fight of the Night winner saw Hafez show out with relentless takedowns, and Della Maddalena punching through all three rounds for the split decision.
Following the decision win, Della Maddalena said, "That's what I wanted, a three round fight, cheers Bassil. I knew I had to push the pace. I knew it was close, but the judges make a lot of bad decisions so I knew I had a chance. I feel good, I'm ready to go (again) next week."
Also on the main card, Francisco Prado claimed a first-round stoppage win over Ottman Azaitar in a lightweight bout after South Korea's fun finisher Junyong Park added another one to his resume by finishing submission specialist Albert Duraev with one of his own.
Park methodically jabbed his way forward into the second round where he was able to force Duraev to the canvas with punches, then got the tap to a rear naked choke.
After proving he's only getting better with four wins in a row (2nd most in the middleweight division), Park said, "It was definitely something that I trained, and it came out exactly as I trained. It was exactly how I pictured.
"All I am is a UFC employee, so whoever they tell me to fight is who I'll fight. [To interviewer Daniel Cormier] You're also an employee of UFC." Former UFC heavyweight champion Cormier answered, "Yes I am, and I'm definitely not fighting you!"
Plus, Norma Dumont dominated Chelsea Chandler over three rounds for a decision win in the women's featherweight bout after Nazim Sadykhov opened the main card with a second-round submission win over Terrance McKinney in a lightweight bout.
In the preliminary card, Viktoriia Dudakova claimed the lone stoppage win, while the likes of Melsik Baghdasaryan, Melquizael Costa, Evan Elder, Azat Maksum, Alexander Munoz and Ailin Perez all earned decision wins in their respective bouts. Here is a look at the final results:
