The Morgan Charriere vs Chepe Mariscal featherweight bout on the main card that also went the distance bagged the fight of the night award in UFC Vegas 90, also known as UFC on ESPN+ 98 or UFC Fight Night 240, in which two other fighters earned performance bonuses.

Apart from Charriere and Mariscal, Cesar Almeida and Ignacio Bahamondes also took home an extra USD50K for their respective stoppage wins on the under card. Here is the recap for the UFC on ESPN+ 98 event:

UFC Vegas 90 Recap

In the main event, ranked middleweight rivals made it a thrilling and competitive rematch when No. 6 ranked Allen took on No. 14 ranked Curtis. Allen showed excellent clinch work, and Curtis delivered crisp boxing as they engaged in the pocket through the first two rounds.

In the third, Curtis got the knockdown so Allen smartly went for the shoot, and their strategies played out in the fourth and incredible fifth round as well with the latter taking a split decision victory.

Following the win, Allen said, "Chris is tough. I was tired in the fifth, for sure. We had a good pace. Hats off to Chris. I Know what we were up against. Where's that title shot?!

"Nobody's got the streak like I've got. I'm out here on short notice against a guy that already beat me. (UFC middleweight champion) Dricus (Du Plessis), come get this business!"

In the co-main event, styles make fights and can be kryptonite, and that was the case for finishers Alexander Hernandez and Damon Jackson. Hernandez' striking kept his opponent at bay, but Jackson capitalized in grappling when he could.

Then in the final round, Hernandez timed a knockdown and transitioned to mount, but Jackson got out and cartwheeled to the back and locked on a choke. The remainder of the round was cage wrestling as they crossed out each other's skill sets, going all the way to the bell.

On the scorecards, Jackson got the victory by split decision and said, "I knew it was going to be a tough fight because I've been watching this dude since we were at LFA. Killer opponent.

"When I got the match up, I was excited because it made me want to train harder. And I wasn't dropped, I rolled my ankle. That was 28-27 me, all the way."

Also on the main card, Bahamondes claimed the only stoppage win after a first round finish of Christos Giagos in a lightweight bout after Charlie Campbell dominated Trevor Peek for a unanimous decision win in the main card opening lightweight bout.

Later in the fight of the night, Mariscal edged Charriere for a split decision win in a featherweight bout. Meanwhile, the prelims saw Cesar Almeida, Nora Cornolle and Jean Matsumoto claim stoppage wins. Here is a look at the final results from UFC Vegas 90 (UFC Fight Night 240):
