Las Vegas, May 19: Lerone Murphy extended his undefeated streak with a win over Edson Barboza in the main event during UFC Vegas 92: Barboza vs. Murphy at the UFC Apex Facility in Las Vegas on Saturday (May 18).

The main event between Barboza and Murphy bagged the fight of the night award in UFC Vegas 92, while two other fighters won performance of the night awards for their respective stoppage wins on the main card.
Apart from Barboza and Murphy, Angela Hill and Khaos Williams also took home an extra USD50K for their respective knockout wins over Luana Pinheiro and Carlston Harris respectively on the main card. Here is the recap for the UFC on ESPN+ 99 event:
A thrilling clash of featherweight contenders went all five rounds as No. 12 ranked Edson Barboza and undefeated Lerone Murphy stood and traded punches and kicks in an engaging main event.
After taking a damaging upkick in round one, Murphy went on to rack up the punches to well over 100 significant strikes, but he could not finish the legendary Barboza. However, his work did earn him the victory on the scorecards.
Following the decision win, Murphy said, "I deserve recognition now. I've beaten the best of the best and showed my worth. I'm going to change my name back to 'The Iceman' because there is nothing miraculous about this. I'm meant to be here. It's destiny. I'm going to be the champion."
In the co-main event, rising welterweights Khaos Williams and Carlston Harris engaged with hard punches right from the opening bell. And in just one and a half minutes, it was Williams who landed the punch that got the KO.
After the stoppage, Williams said, "I don't like to talk too much before the fight. I said I wanted to take his soul, and that's what I did. I'm here, I'm healthy, I'm young, I'm in my prime. I want all the smoke. Don't be sleeping on me. It's not personal, it's just punishment."
Also on the main card, Themba Gorimbo earned a decision win over Ramiz Brahimaj in a welterweight bout after Angela Hill and Adrian Yanez claimed stoppage wins in the opening two bouts.
In the preliminary card, China's entertaining bantamweight brawler Alatengheili smartened up in his tactics and used wrestling to control Brazilian Kleidison Rodrigues for most of three rounds.
Rodrigues was sharp on his feet with leg kicks and fast striking, so Alatengheili took him down every round to negate any damage from the DWCS winner and get back into the win column.
Plus, Abus Magomedov and Vanessa Demopoulos also won based on the points scored on the judges scorecard, while Tom Nolan, Oumar Sy and Melissa Gatto claimed stoppage wins. In an unfortunate end, Piera Rodriguez was disqualified for an illegal headbutt against Ariane Carnelossi. Here is a look at the final results:
