Anthony Hernandez completely dominated and finished Michel Pereira during the middleweight headliner of UFC Vegas 99: Hernandez vs. Pereira at the UFC Apex Facility in Las Vegas on Saturday (October 19).
The 11-fight card saw only 2 fights, including the headliner, end in stoppage, while nine fights went the distance in Las Vegas. Among the 2 finishes, one was a technical knockout (TKO), and 1 was a submission win.

While the featherweight bout between Darren Elkins and Daniel Pineda picked up the fight of the night award, only main eventer Hernandez took home an extra USD50K as performance bonus from the event. Here is the recap for the UFC on ESPN+ 103 event:
The promised nail-biter main event between No. 13 middleweight Hernandez and No. 14 ranked Pereira started with a bang, but in the end it was Hernandez with the shut out.
Pereira's body strikes hurt early, but Hernandez stayed on his gameplan and got a trip at the end of round one. He smothered, used his jab to set up takedowns, and wore down Pereira in the second. Hernandez capitalized with takedowns to massive ground and pound all the way to a fifth round TKO.
Following the stoppage, Hernandez said, "I'm not stronger than this guy, I had to use my technique and be smart, trust my strength, my chin, my body, to get him down in there. It was just as I expected, I had no nerves all week.
"Just give me my belt, I'm out of my own way. Give me someone who's going to get me to a title shot. I'll prove it to you. I'm ready, I'm sharp, I'm ready for anyone."
In the co-main event, No. 10 ranked bantamweight Rob Font and No. 12 Kyler Phillips both put on grueling performances in their three round battle that saw the former walk away with the win.
Font's striking and Phillip's grappling saw each of them earn a round. Font's pressure put him ahead in the third round, although Phillips and his wrestling showed he's a force for the future.
After the decision win, Font said, "I thought, I'm not losing another decision, I'm getting up, I'm going forward, and I'm winning this fight. It was all about keeping it simple and small. I'd love to get back as soon as possible."
In the other featured bout on the UFC Fight Night 245 card, China's Sumudaerji went toe-to-toe with Charles Johnson, but came up short in an action-packed full three round fight.
Johnson's striking earned him the first round, and Sumu brought it tied with his excellent grappling in the second. In the final round, it was Johnson's better stand up offense that earned him the decision, sending Sumu back to the drawing board on his third straight loss.
Also on the main card, late-replacement Cameron Smotherman dominated Jake Hadley to win the bantamweight weight bout on his UFC debut before Darren Elkins outworked Daniel Pineda for points on the judges scorecard in the main card opener.
Earlier in the preliminary card, Asu Almabayev, Jean Matsumoto, Elise Reed, Melissa Martinez and Austen Lane earned decision wins, while Joselyne Edwards claimed a third-round submission win over Tamires Vidal. Here is a look at the full results of UFC on ESPN+ 103:
