United lose injured Neville for another three weeks

LONDON, March 30 (Reuters) Manchester United captain Gary Neville will be out for a further three weeks after damaging ankle ligaments, the Premier League leaders said today.

The United right back suffered the injury in the opening minutes of their win over Bolton Wanderers two weeks ago, when Alex Ferguson thought he would be out for three weeks.

But the manager told Manchester United Radio: ''The swelling has only just gone down on his ankle so the injury was maybe a bit worse than we thought in terms of the swelling.

''But he's been doing some good work in the gym and I expect him to be back in the first team in three weeks' time.'' Neville was replaced by substitute Wes Brown against Bolton.

Better news for United was that Norwegian striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Dutch keeper Edwin van der Sar are set to return from injury for Saturday's game against Blackburn Rovers.

United, chasing their first league title for four years, are six points clear of Chelsea with eight games left to play.
