United States beat Argentina at World Team Cup

BERLIN, May 22 (Reuters) The United States kept their hopes of winning the World Team Cup alive today with a 2-1 win over Argentina in rainy Duesseldorf.

World number eight James Blake came back from a set down to beat Agustin Calleri 2-6 6-3 6-4 before Jose Acasuso levelled the Red Group match at 1-1 with a 7-5 6-4 victory over Mardy Fish.

The Bryan brothers, the world's top-ranked doubles pairing, then thrashed Calleri and Juan Ignacio Chela 6-2 6-1 to take the match for the United States, who last won the Cup in 1993.

Chile, champions in 2003 and 2004 and conquerors of the Americans yesterday, had an unassailable 2-0 lead over Sweden when play in their Red Group match ended for bad light on Tuesday.
