UPOA welcomes Youth Baton Relay team

Lucknow, Aug 9 (UNI) Hailing the Youth Baton Relay team of the Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) that reached here last night, a grand reception ceremony will be organised at the K D Singh Babu Stadium tommorow.

''A reception ceremony will be organised to welcome the Baton Relay team here at the K D Singh Babu Stadium,'' an official of Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association said.

He further said that the relay after attending the function will leave for Rae Bareli.

The baton will cover a distance of 8,000 km, touring 199 towns and cities in nine states before reaching Pune on the inaugural day of the event, October 12.

About 6,000 particiapants from all walks of life will cover the distance.

The CYG will end on October 18.
