Scottie Scheffler is not concerned about being the favourite for the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club this weekend. The top-ranked golfer aims to secure his first U.S. Open title, having recently won both the PGA Championship and the Memorial Tournament. His recent victories have put him in excellent form, making him a strong contender.
Scheffler's victory at the PGA Championship marked him as only the second golfer in a century to win his first three majors by three shots or more, following Seve Ballesteros in 1983. Additionally, he became the second player to win the Memorial Tournament consecutively, after Tiger Woods' wins from 1999 to 2001.

The 28-year-old golfer emphasised that he is well-rested and focused on performing well rather than worrying about being labelled as a favourite. "I don't pay attention to the favourite stuff or anything like that," Scheffler stated. He prioritises playing against the course itself rather than focusing on external expectations.
Scheffler mentioned that starting Thursday morning, he will be at even par and it will be up to him to perform against the golf course. Having taken a week off was crucial for him to rest and recover before arriving at Oakmont on Sunday.
Upon arrival, Scheffler played around 11 holes to acclimate himself to the conditions, which he described as aligning with his usual major preparation routine. This contrasts with last year's experience of transitioning directly from one major championship test to another, which posed significant challenges.
The upcoming tournament promises excitement as both World No. 1 and World No. 2 have secured major wins this year. Golf enthusiasts eagerly await what Oakmont has in store for these top players as they compete for glory on this prestigious stage.
