USHA to spot more talent

Kozhikode, Jan 30 (UNI) In a bid to spot budding talents for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the prestigious Usha School of Athletics (USHA) would conduct selection trials in its premises near here on February 2.

The selection would be made after screening as many as 500 young girls confirmed participation from various parts of the country, the USHA said in a release here today.

An expert panel comprised of USHA President and former sprint queen P T Usha, J S Bhatia, S S Kaimal and Dr Manoj would be overseeing the process, the release said.

Selcted candidates would be provided with school education, training in their selected discipline, boarding, food and sports kit free of cost, the release added.
