Uttar Pradesh lift boy's title, Chhattisgarh retain girl's crown

Jaipur, Jan 15 (UNI) Displaying a brilliant performance, Uttar Pradesh prvailed over Punjab 69-52 to lift boy's title while Chhattisgarh proved too good for Uttar Pradesh with a 92-64 scoreline to retain the girl's crown for the fourth time in a row in the 23rd National Youth Basketball Championship which concluded at the SMS Indoor Hall here this evening.

Uttar Pradesh had mixed luck today as their girls failed, or they could have ended up winning both the titles. Uttar Pradesh lads combined well from the start of the match as they established a comfortable lead of 37-28 at the half time and maintained the same sprit in the second session to birish triumphant.

Vishesh did most of the scoring for Uttar Pradesh as he made 25 followed by Arjun with 14 and Apnesh with 11. Lavdeep Singh accounted 32 for Punjab while none of the other Punjab players could score in double figures.

Following is the score:- Uttar Pradesh 69 (Vishesh 25, Arjun 14, Apnesh 11) bt Punjab 52 (Lavdeep Singh 32, Virkaran 8, Gulvinder 4).
