Uzbekistan defeat India 4-2

New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) Uzbek colts proved too good for the Indians, winning the rubber 4-2 at the Asian leg of the IC 16 and under World Junior Challenge being played at RK Khanna stadium here today.

Shantanu Rajput put a tremendous effort winning his singles and then, with Shiva Sangwan, the boys doubles got little support from the eves who suurendered abjectly to the Uzbek girls.

Yesterday, India whitewashed Pakistan 5-0 in their opening rubber.

The three-nation event is being jointly organised by All India Tennis Association (AITA) and the International Lawn Tennis Club of India.

The winning team will represent Asia at the World Junior Challenge to be held in Auckland, New Zealand from February 19-21.
