Vaas discharged from hospital
London, May 21 (UNI) Sri Lankan World Cup hero Chaminda Vaas has been discharged from the Broomfield hospital here late last night after a consultant treated his injured head.
Vaas was admitted at the hospital after he collided with the advertising hoardings in a county match between Middlesex and Essex.
The game was delayed by 27 minutes while Vaas was being assessed on the field, before being taken to hospital for further appraisal.
Middlesex coach Richard Pybus said, ''Chaminda unfortunately fell back into the boards and hit his head. He's been taken to do some neurological tests.'' ''He was conscious and could feel his fingers and feet. You've got to be very careful with an injury like this'' Pybus was quoted as saying by BBC.
Vaas, who was playing for Middlesex, bumped into the hoardings in his endeavour to catch English all-rounder Ravi Bopara.
