Vaughan has no plans to quit after the World Cup

London, Apr 8 (UNI) Prior to their crucial Super Eight encounter against Australia today, England skipper Michael Vaughan has made his intentions crystal clear about his future plans by saying that he has no plans to hang up his boots from international cricket after the World Cup.

''I want to be in involved in all aspects of the game. I want to play Twenty20 cricket. I love that even though I've only played two games in my life. I'd love to be part of the Ashes in 2009 and the Ashes series after that. I want to play everything,'' an emphatic Vaughan was quoted by the Guardian as saying about his future plans.

''If you half disappear from the scene then it is almost as if you are giving up mentally,'' he added.

Given that Vaughan is clearly so hungry to resume his international career, it makes Fletcher's position more vulnerable if England disappear from the World Cup without a fight.

According to the newspaper, the reality is that if England are defeated today and are then consigned to another unsuccessful World Cup expedition, the juggernaut for change will be hard to halt and the first casualty could be coach Duncan Fletcher, even though he is being backed by the chairman of the ECB, David Morgan.

However, the England skipper opined that he is not in favour of a sudden drastic change in the team and stood by his coach's side.

''I don't know what the thoughts are within the ECB about Duncan Fletcher. I will say that the grass is not always greener. Change isn't always for the best. I don't see many better coaches out there. Duncan is still coming up with new ideas that I've never heard before,'' Vaughan said.
