Vaughan out for two more matches with hamstring tear

SYDNEY, Jan 20 (Reuters) England captain Michael Vaughan has been ruled out of the next two tri-series one-day internationals in Australia with a torn hamstring, but he is likely to be back in action before the end of the tournament.

Vaughan, 32, injured himself while fielding in England's three-wicket win over New Zealand in Hobart on Tuesday and scans later revealed he had suffered a grade one tear.

He missed England's four-wicket defeat to Australia in Brisbane yesterday and team officials released a brief statement on Saturday saying he would miss the next two games -- against New Zealand on Tuesday then Australia on Friday -- but might play against the Kiwis in Perth on Jan. 30.

Vaughan has only just returned to the England fold after two operations on his right knee.

He missed more than a year of international cricket, including the Ashes tests, but was recalled for the triangular one-day series after passing a fitness test.

Mal Loye, 34, was called into the England squad on standby for Vaughan and top-scored with 36 on his one-day international debut yesterday.
