Oz: Williams sisters storm into quarterfinals

Melbourne, Jan 25: Serena Williams followed her elder sister Venus into the quarterfinals of the Autralian Open after dishing out a 6-4, 6-2 defeat to local favourite Samantha Stosur.

Serena, who is defending her title, may be forced to clash against her sister in semi finals as Venus earlier stormed into the quarterfinals after thrashing Italian veteran Francesca Schiavone 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.

No 6 women"s seed Venus will be facing 16th seeded Na Li of China in the next round.

If she gets past her Chinese opponent, Venus will be challenging her sister's campaign to clinch the fourth Australian Open singles title.
