Max Verstappen expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision to delay the Belgian Grand Prix, believing it negatively impacted the race before it even began. The event was postponed for about 90 minutes due to heavy rain at Circuit Spa-Francorchamps. The FIA opted to halt proceedings after the formation lap, with race director Rui Marques instructing all cars to return to the pit lane.
Verstappen finished fourth in the race, unable to overtake Charles Leclerc. Oscar Piastri took advantage of the situation, seizing the lead from Lando Norris on the fifth lap and maintaining his position to secure his sixth victory of the season. The first four laps were conducted behind a virtual safety car.

The Dutch driver felt that a more daring approach should have been taken by race control. "We made a choice with the setup, and they only allowed us to drive in almost slick conditions," Verstappen commented. He believed starting earlier would have been better and criticised what he saw as an overly cautious stance.
Verstappen suggested that either racing should continue in wet conditions or be postponed until dry weather prevails. He noted that their car setup was not suitable for dry tyres and highlighted existing balance issues with his vehicle. These factors contributed to their slower performance on straight sections of the track.
Despite winning Saturday's sprint race by maintaining speed over 15 laps against McLarens, Verstappen faced challenges during the full race due to tyre degradation. This issue is something he wants Red Bull to address moving forward. "The problems we have in the car in tyre management are still there," he stated.
He acknowledged that changes made improved lap performance but emphasised that fixing these issues is not straightforward. Verstappen added that regardless of adjustments like rear wing modifications, tyre management remains problematic and affected their performance during Sunday's race.
