Max Verstappen Expresses Hunger For Continued Success After Winning Fourth World Championship

Max Verstappen has secured his fourth consecutive Formula One world title and is eager for more success. He reflects on a challenging season and looks forward to future races with determination.

Max Verstappen has expressed his desire for continued success after clinching his fourth consecutive Formula One world championship at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver secured the title by finishing fifth, ahead of rival Lando Norris. George Russell of Mercedes won the race. Verstappen now trails only Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, and Juan Manuel Fangio in terms of world titles.

Verstappen is determined to pursue a fifth title in 2025. He anticipates a competitive season next year with many strong contenders. "If you look to next year right now, I think it's going to be a proper battle between a lot of cars, but I'm hungry," said Verstappen, who claimed the championship with two races remaining.

Verstappen Aims for More Success in F1

The season has been demanding for Verstappen, who won seven out of the first ten races in 2024. However, he managed just one victory in the subsequent twelve races. This allowed McLaren's Norris to challenge for the championship. Despite this, Norris finished sixth on Sunday and is now 63 points behind Verstappen with only 60 points left to compete for this season.

"It's been a long season. We started off amazing, and we were cruising, but then we had a tough run as a team," said Verstappen. "We kept it together, we kept working on improvements and I couldn't be more proud of everyone." He became the sixth driver to win four or more drivers' championships.

The Dutchman reflected on his journey in F1: "I was just happy to be there [racing] and dreaming of potential victories and standing on the podium." At age 17, he became the youngest driver in F1 history at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix with Toro Rosso. A year later, he won the Spanish GP on debut for Red Bull.

This season has taught him valuable lessons despite its challenges. "It was very challenging as a person at times," he admitted. Currently, he is just 10.5 points away from becoming the third driver in F1 history to surpass 3000 points after Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.

Verstappen looks forward to achieving this milestone at next week's penultimate race in Qatar. "To stand here as a four-time world champion is something I never thought was possible," he said. "At the moment I'm feeling relieved but also very proud."
