The VIBGYOR Group of Schools has successfully concluded the Marta & Bernat International Hoops India 2025 basketball camp, training over 350 young athletes across multiple cities. Led by Olympic athlete Marta Canella and coach Bernat Canut Font, the camp focused on advanced skills and mindset development.

The VIBGYOR Group of Schools, in partnership with Olympia Sportz & Events, recently wrapped up the Marta & Bernat International Hoops in India 2025.

This elite basketball camp, led by Olympic athlete Marta Canella and FIBA U19 World Cup silver medallist coach Bernat Canut Font, was held from 22 July to 3 August. It provided high-performance training to over 350 young athletes across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru.

VIBGYOR Concludes Elite Basketball Camp in India

Participants aged between 10 and 18 received world-class coaching aimed at enhancing their skills and strategic understanding of basketball. The programme included rigorous drills, live gameplay simulations, and personal mentoring sessions. Each participant left with not only a certificate and autographed memorabilia but also a renewed sense of confidence and aspiration.

Shaji Kuttiani, Director of Sports and Events at VIBGYOR Group of Schools, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration. "This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students to be personally trained by an Olympic athlete and a globally renowned coach," he said. The camp opened its doors to students beyond VIBGYOR campuses, fostering a broader culture of sporting excellence.

The initiative's scale and inclusivity were noteworthy. While the core training camp travelled across four major cities, Canella and Canut extended their impact by visiting the VIBGYOR campus in Nagpur. There, they conducted motivational sessions that inspired hundreds more students through stories of perseverance and global sporting success.

Kevin Mathew Lalu, Head of Basketball at VIBGYOR Group of Schools, highlighted the potential for growth in Indian basketball through such initiatives. "Interacting with global athletes gave students a fresh perspective on the sport," he noted. This effort is seen as a meaningful step toward nurturing a stronger basketball culture in schools across India.

Marta Canella shared her thoughts on the camp: "The passion and energy I witnessed in these young athletes was incredible." She emphasised how sport serves as a powerful force for growth and connection beyond competition. Coach Bernat Canut Font added that it was rewarding to see the students' confidence grow over just three days.

VIBGYOR's Commitment to Holistic Education

This initiative underscores VIBGYOR's dedication to holistic education by blending academics with real-world exposure. The successful conclusion of this multi-city tour marks a significant step forward in redefining school sports in India. It empowers students to dream big and perform at an international level.

Founded in 2004, VIBGYOR Group of Schools is recognised for its academic excellence over two decades. With affiliations to CISCE, CBSE, and Cambridge International curriculum, it offers world-class educational programmes from early years to Grade 12 across its 39 schools in 15 major cities nationwide.
