Victor Wembanyama states that the NBA MVP race should have a clear leader, and believes that leader is Wembanyama. After a dominant showing in San Antonio Spurs’ 136-111 win over the Miami Heat, Wembanyama insists the debate will be settled by the close of the regular season.

Against Miami, Wembanyama delivered 26 points in only 26 minutes as San Antonio registered a 22nd victory in 24 games. I believe I’m the most impactful player, defensively, in the league," Wembanyama said. "The second argument would be that we almost swept OKC in the season, and we dominated them three times with their real team. The third argument would be that offensive impact is not just measured by points."

But he affects so much of the game in every single way, as much as any other player I’ve ever seen. Take that for what it’s worth."
