Vignesh upsets top seed Gangadaran

Chennai, Aug 13 (UNI) Qualifier V Vignesh of Tamil Nadu was off to a flying start, upsetting sixth seed Priyank Gangadaran 7-6(2), 7-6 (1) in two tie break sets in the Under 18 section of MCC-Adidas junior national tennis tournament at the Madras Cricket Club courts here today.

In another match top seed Vijayanth Malik of Chandigarh blanked Bihar's Dev Priya Jaswal 6-0, 6-0.

Three more Tamil Nadu boys, Sriram Balaji Narayanswamy, Siddarth Kaushik and Arul Mozhi Selvan also advanced into the second round registering comfortable victories.

In the under-14 section, Manab Kumar Chakma of Assam overcame M Abdullah of Andhra Pradesh 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-0 to make it to the second round.
