'Vijayraaj' claims Golconda 2000 Guineas cup

Hyderabad, Dec 9 (UNI) LVR Deshmukh trained 'Vijayraaj' ridden by S D'Souza claimed the Golconda 2000 Guineas, the main event of the winter races held here today.

The winner is owned by D Prataap Chander Reddy and Susheel Kumar Gupta.

Trainers LVR Deshmukh, L D'Silva and K Satheesh saddled two winners each while jockeys P Kamalesh and S D'Sousa rode a brace each.

Three favourites obliged the punters in a card of nine events.

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Industries, Sugar and Commerce J Geetha Reddy presented the cup to the owner.

UNI
