Vishal stars in Cavalry Red's win at Hari Singh Memorial cup

New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) With seconds left for the final hooter, Vishal Singh scored the winner as Cavalry Red piped star-studded Kingfisher First 8-7 in their opening tie of the Maharaja Hari Singh Memorial Cup Polo here today.

While Vishal scored two, Santiago de Estrada made it 3-0 for Cavalry in the first chukker. Dhruvpal Godara reduced the margin for Kingfisher in the opening minutes of the second chukker. Vishal Singh scored two more goals while Captain Tumku chipped in with a solitary effort to make it 6-1 in Cavalry's favour.

Minutes into the third chukker, Vishal scored his fifth goal of the match to put his team in a commanding position. However, Gaurav Sahgal, Angad Kalaan and Samir Suhag scored in succession to reduce the margin to 7-4 at the stroke of the third breather. The fourth chukker was hard fought with none of the teams able to score. In the decider, Dhruvpal scored once while Angad Kalaan scored two consecutive goals to restore parity. While the fight grew intense, Vishal fired the winner for Cavalry.
