Kannur, Apr 18 (UNI) Viva Kerala beat Iran XI 2-1 and ensured their place in the semifinals in Group B match of the E K Nayanar Memorial Gold Cup International Football Tournament here.

Shineraj and Mohammed Munir scored for the winners, while striker Hashem Heidari netted the goal for Iran. Viva was leading in the first half by one goal.

In the second session Iran changed the game plan and found the equaliser goal in the 50th minute through striker Hashim Heldari through a free kick.

In the 58th minute Muhammed Munir placed the ball into the net from a pass of Anilkumar from inside the penalty area and posted the lead to 2-1.

Iran played with nine national players.

Iran XI would take on Dinamo FC Nigeria tomorrow.
