Vivek joins Ashok at top in Solaris Global Green Open Golf
Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) Vivek Bhandari carded a second successive three-under 67 to join overnight leader Ashok Kumar (70) at the top after the second round of the Rs 60 Lakh Solaris Global Green Open at the Bangalore Golf Club here today.
''I putted well and was really comfortable hitting it off the tee. I missed a few small putts today and had a shaky start,'' Vivek said.
Meanwhile, Ashok maintained his lead inspite of a level-par 70 after mixing six birdies and an equal number of bogeys. His tournament tally now stanmds at six-under 134.
SSP Chowrasia also made a bid for the winners purse of Rs.9,72,000 after carding a four-under 66 to move up to third place with a total of five-under 135.
Local pro Chinnaswamy Muniyappa was in fourth place with a total of four-under 136 after he carded two consistent rounds of level-par 70.
Mukesh Kumar had a better round today, carding a four-under 66.
Fifty-one professionals made the cut, which was applied at five-over 145. Vijay Kumar, Rahil Gangjee, Uttam Singh Mundy, Naman Dawar and Gurbaaz Mann were among the notables who fell by the wayside. Local amateur Abhishek Jha leads the amateur field, with a total of 142.
